Dolores Huerta–the famous organizer who co-founded the United Farm Workers Union with Cesar Chavez over fifty years–says on Twitter that she was yelled at when she attempted to translate for Spanish-speaking voters at a Bernie Sanders rally in Nevada.

Polling data publicized by the website ProEnglish.org shows that a majority of both Democrats and Republicans favor English: 79% of Republicans and 59% of Democrats reject the idea that all Americans should know multiple languages. Among unaffiliated voters, 68% say their fellow citizens do not need to know a language other than English.
