Report: Potential VP Mike Pence Travels to Meet Trump

Indiana’s Gov. Mike Pence is traveling to meet with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump on Friday, according to MSNBC. NBC News is reporting Pence is “in play” as a possible choice for vice president, citing anonymous sources.

“Gov. Mike Pence said Thursday he has not talked to Donald Trump about becoming his running mate, but he also declined to rule out the possibility amid reports that suggest he is being vetted,” noted the IndyStar.

“You’d have to talk to their campaign about who they’re looking at or who they’re not looking at,” Pence stated when asked about the possibility of him being a VP pick for the billionaire, but wouldn’t say how he would respond to a request to be the VP running mate.

“I wouldn’t speak to a hypothetical,” Pence responded.

According to the Washington Post, the Trump campaign is vetting several Republicans who could potentially serve as Trump’s running mate. The Post reports former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are the two leading contenders for VP.
