A political action committee focused on advocating for Republican candidates and causes now has a 30-second commercial running in the Washington-area media market supporting President-elect Donald J. Trump’s decision to appoint Stephen K. Bannon as his chief White House strategist.
“The left is freaking out because Donald Trump named a real conservative — Steve Bannon – as his top policy aide,” says the announcer in the commercial produced and funded by the Courageous Conservatives Political Action Committee.
“Bannon’s not like the Bush crowd. Bannon likes beating the left and he scares them,” the voiceover says. “For good reason. America rejected Obama’s failed agenda and now they know Trump’s going to reverse it. So go on Twitter. Now. Thank our new president for draining the DC swamp.”
The commercial features a photo of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I.-Vt.) with the headline: “Bernie Sanders Is Demanding Trump Fire ‘Racist’ Steve Bannon.”
The commercial ends with a mock up of a tweet the viewer is encouraged to send: “Thank you @realDonaldTrump for hiring @StephenBannon and keeping your word to #DrainTheDCSwamp #MAGA”
