Two masked suspects fled a Wake County, North Carolina, gun store after the clerk drew his gun and opened fire.

According to ABC 11, around 4:30 pm at Jim’s Gun Shop, Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said the clerk saw “two suspects approaching with white masks on and attempted to shut and lock the entrance of the shop.” The suspects, however, pushed through the door before the clerk could lock it, so he stepped back, drew his gun, and fired.

The suspects fled following the gunshot, and the clerk does not know whether he hit either of them. He told police that “they jumped into a green car and drove off.”

In a related story, a car crashed into a pawn shop in Garner on Sunday. That business is “less than two miles from Jim’s Gun Shop.” Police are looking at any possible ties between the two incidents.
