Biden-Blocking Baker to Appear at Ryan Campaign Stop
Chris McMurray, owner of the Virginia bakery that turned down Joe Biden because of President Obama’s “you didn’t build that” comment, will be at Paul Ryan’s event Wednesday morning in Roanoke, Virginia.
The Romney campaign confirmed McMurray will speak before Ryan takes the stage at a 9:15 a.m. rally at Northwest Hardware.
After news got out that McMurray turned down Biden -- and secret service agents stopped by and bought cookies to thank him for doing so -- “Crumb and Get It” has been so busy McMurray even ran out of cookie dough and cookies on one occasion. He and his wife have worked nearly 24-hour shifts on certain days to fill orders that have come in from across the country. Prominent politicians, such as Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, have made the trek to the Virginia bakery.
McMurray opened “Crumb and Get It” with his wife in May, and he is fast becoming to this election cycle what another Virginia resident, Tito “The Builder” Munoz, made famous by Sarah Palin, was to the 2008 election cycle.
On the stump, Romney and Ryan have championed business owners by emphatically stating "you did build that."
