Is the left getting truly desperate as the election enters its last days?
One issue being raised with increasing frequency--abortion--would indicate this is the case. A Vice President, Hollywood stars, and now a left-wing lawyer
are all trying to scare people on the issue they care most about. Now the left always brings up abortion, and any objective analysis
would show they are more obsessed with the issue than even the most
committed pro-lifer on the right. To some on the left, abortion on
demand is almost sacramental.
Joe Biden was asked about abortion and his faith during the vice
presidential debate and tried to claim he was both pro-life and deeply
committed to abortion on demand.
"With regard to abortion, I accept my Church’s position on abortion as
a de fide doctrine. Life begins at conception. I accept that position
in my personal life. But I refuse to impose it on equally devout
Christians, and Muslims and Jews," Biden said during the debate.
Had he ended his answer there, it would have been a respectable answer
for a man who says he defines himself by his Catholic faith, but
instead he went on.
"The next president will get one or two Supreme Court nominations.
That’s how close Roe v. Wade is. Just ask yourself, with Robert Bork
being the chief adviser to the court for Mr. Romney, who do you think
he’s likely to appoint? Do you think he’s likely to appoint someone
like Scalia or someone else on the court, far right, that would outlaw
abortion? I suspect that would happen," Biden said.
How does a man that says he accepts life begins at conception then
turn around and fear monger over what a court might do? It is
fear mongering at its best, and Americans can expect plenty more of it
in the next few weeks.
Last week came the video from some of Hollywood's most charming
beauties warning women across America against Mitt Romney on "women's
issues." Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria, and Kerry Washington joined
forces with MoveOn.org to warn women that Romney will ruin their
lives.
Now we have Gloria Allred and her "October surprise," an apparent claim
against Mitt Romney that he counseled a woman against having an abortion.
The horror of it all, Romney, acting as a bishop in his church,
advising a fellow church member to consider adoption instead of
abortion. What a monster Romney must be!
Of course, as Breitbart readers know, this is not a new story.
That the left is willing to raise the issue of abortion is no
surprise; they have tried to use it as a trump card for decades now.
What is surprising, and what shows their desperation, is that they are
willing to stoop this low at this point in the campaign
The only questions that remain--will the American people deem Romney
unelectable for preferring adoption to abortion? And will Obama's
cheerleaders in the media run with this or see it as another sign
of a campaign on the wrong track?
