Poll: Romney Leading in Iowa, 49-48

According to the latest Rasmussen poll, released today, Mitt Romney is leading President Obama by one point in Iowa, 49-48. Two percent remain undecided, and the margin of error is 4 percent. This race is essentially a dead heat.

But with all four major Iowa newspapers endorsing Romney, the momentum is clearly on Romney’s side. Iowa has seven electoral votes. Together with Wisconsin, which has 10 and is deadlocked, that puts Romney in a position to win the election even without Ohio – although the last Rasmussen poll had Romney leading in Ohio as well by two points.
