A dreadlocked man has been arrested by police for allegedly choking his girlfriend with his own dreadlocks.

The Smoking Gun reports that Portland’s Caleb Grotberg has been arrested and is facing a number of criminal charges after police responded to a domestic disturbance call around 2:30 AM on January 7, 2012.

His girlfriend, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, alleges the 32-year-old Grotberg used his dreadlocks to choke her.

He is reportedly facing charges for kidnapping, assault, menacing, strangulation, and domestic violence.
