DC Consultants Honor Romney On-line Media Consultants for 2012 Campaign
Last Friday, the American Association of Political Consultants honored Targeted Victory, the consulting firm that was paid more than $96 million by the Republican National Committee and the Romney campaign during the 2012 election cycle. The AAPC is the largest association of political consultants in the country.
This week, Targeted Victory executive Mike Beach sent out an email confirming the firm's awards:
Friday night the annual AAPC Pollie awards were held at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. From television to online advertising, Gold, Silver and Bronze Pollies were awarded across a broad range of categories. Targeted Victory took home a total of 35 Pollie Awards.
Targeted Victory's website also confirmed the company won 10 Gold Pollies, 16 Silver Pollies, and 9 Bronze Pollies.
Nine of the Gold Pollies were for work done on behalf of the Romney for President campaign, and one was for work done on behalf of Karl Rove's American Crossroads. Categories in which Targeted Victory won Gold Pollies included: online advertising – president, online advertising – best use of search engine marketing, best use of Pandora, website – president, landing page, best use of Twitter, best use of Facebook advertising, best Facebook application, best use of website fundraising, and best use of mobile application – Republican.
New Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Shields was also honored at the American Association of Political Consultants event on Friday. Shields was awarded a 2013 Pollie Award as the Most Valuable Player of the Year-Republican by the organization.
A day earlier, Democratic campaign strategist David Axelrod and Obama 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe were among those inducted into the group's Hall of Fame. Last year, in 2012, Karl Rove, Paul Begala, and James Carville were inducted.
