Report: Boston Bombing Suspects Used Al-Qaeda Magazine to Build Bombs

As many commentators had suspected, it now appears that the Boston bombing suspects built their pressure cooker bombs by reading Al Qaeda’s magazine, Inspire. A federal official reports that the publication, started by US citizen Samir Khan, who was killed in a drone strike along with al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen, printed instructions on how to “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom.”

Federal officials have told Fox News that the Tsarnaev brothers allegedly committed the Boston bombings thanks to their Islamism. It is unclear whether the Tsarnaevs were involved directly with Al Qaeda, or merely used Al Qaeda resources to build their weapons. According to Fox News, “The U.S. intelligence director’s office has declined to provide official government data on homegrown terrorists, or comment on the Tsarnaev brothers and the investigation into the bombings.”
