Gosnell Jury Hears Testimony A Second Time About Baby Struggling In Toilet

The jury for the Kermit Gosnell murder trial asked to hear the testimony again about the baby who was born in a toilet and struggled to survive.

Adrienne Morton, one of Gosnell’s medical assistants, testified in March that she snipped the spines of at least 10 babies. One of those babies measured at 30 weeks and she thought he could survive because of his size. Gosnell joked to her that the baby could walk him to the bus stop.

Morton could not control her emotions and broke down on the stand. From LifeNews:

Morton, 35, sobbed as she described her work at the clinic. Because of problems at home, she had moved in with Gosnell and his third wife during high school, and she went to work for him from 2005 to 2008. She earned about $10 an hour, off the books, to administer drugs, perform sonograms, help with abortions and dispose of fetal remains. Workers got $20 bonuses for second-term abortions on Saturdays, when a half-dozen were sometimes performed.

She told the jury about a baby born in the toilet and tried to swim to safety. She took the baby out, snipped his neck, and disposed the baby in a container. Her co-worker Kareema Cross told the grand jury Morton snipped the baby’s neck in front of the mother.

Gosnell is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree murder in regards to the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar. He faces 258 other charges.
