Approval of Obamacare Continues to Drop
As the October deadline for setting up Obamacare exchanges draws near, public opinion on the healthcare overhaul continues to falter.
A recent Fox News poll found public opinion on Obamacare now sits at 40 percent in support, 55 percent against. That's a six point drop in support since this same time last year.
On top of this, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) says the implementation of Obamacare is running so far behind schedule that it may not be in place when its supposed to be. The GAO issued a report warning of a "potential for challenges going forward" and says "it cannot be determined" at this time whether exchanges will in fact be in place by October.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says the GAO "is not the first to issue such warnings." He and other Senate Republicans have been warning that Obamacare "is set to become a bureaucratic nightmare" for some time.
