Immigration Bill to Award More Green Cards than in Last 40 Years
Rosemary Jenks, a Harvard Law graduate and the director of government relations for NumbersUSA, said it was "frightening" that the number of green cards the Senate's immigration bill will grant in ten years will be more than the country has awarded over the last 40 years.
Appearing on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, Jenks said the Senate's immigration bill will give 33 million green cards over the next ten years, which is more than the total number given out from 1972-2012.
Jenks said the bill essentially replaces "American workers with a whole new foreign workforce" and emphasized that wages will go down for American workers while unemployment will go up. She said illegal immigrants who get amnesty and foreign workers who replace Americans will instead benefit.
She said union workers do not support the bill but "union leaders do support it because they will get higher dues."
Ultimately, Jenks said the immigration debate is not a battle between the left and the right or Republicans and Democrats. Instead, she said it has always been a battle between elites who support the bill and the American public that will suffer the consequences.
"The elites don't have to compete for jobs," Jenks said. "They don't have to send their kids to public schools. They don't have to wait in the emergency rooms [of crowded hospitals]. They live in gated communities where crime is not a problem."
She added the elites "don't have to live in the same world that we do and face the impact of immigration on a daily basis."
Breitbart News Executive Chairman and host Stephen K. Bannon said Jenks is doing as much as anyone in the country to save the nation from the catastrophe that is the Senate's immigration bill.
Jenks urged listeners to call their Senators "once or twice or ten times a day" this week.
"We need to kill this bill," Jenks said. "It's all about phone calls. Just keep calling them."
