Florida Teen Who Fought Alligator Considers Joining Marines

Florida teenager Andrew Hudson has always wanted to become a Marine, but he got his first taste of action before he ever had a chance to sign up.

Fox News reports that on July 8th Hudson was attacked by a nine-foot gator that bit his head and pulled him down in grassy waters. As the teen began punching the gator, the beast released its hold on him and Hudson swam to safety.

Hudson recounted the moments after the attack:

My head hurt like crazy, and there was blood dripping everywhere… [it was] getting in my eyes and everything. Then I just took my shorts and wrapped them around my head to try to stop the bleeding.

Hudson received 23 stitches and 17 staples for his wounds and said he believed his ability to remain calm during the attack kept things from “going south.”
