NY Airport Closed After Southwest Airlines Accident

New York’s La Guardia airport was closed Monday, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said after the nose of a Southwest Airlines jet reportedly collapsed onto the runway on landing.

Images broadcast by television channels showed the plane — identified by the airline as flight 345 from Nashville — with its nose angled down to the ground and surrounded by emergency vehicles.

It was not immediately clear if the accident had resulted in any injuries.
