Second New York Democrat Calls On Weiner to Leave Mayor's Race

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) is the second Democratic Representative from New York to say that New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner should exit the Democratic primary.

“Well he certainly isn’t my candidate. I’ve endorsed Christine Quinn. He certainly doesn’t represent the values and goals of the Democratic Party. So, we would be better off if he wasn’t in the race. We would be,” she told Breitbart News on Thursday.

Last week, Congressman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) called Weiner, a former congressman from Brooklyn, a “serial liar” who should leave the race.

“I think he should withdraw, I think he needs serious psychiatric help,” Nadler said  to NBC News last Tuesday “He should take care of his own problems and let New York figure its policies and its mayor.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called Weiner’s behavior “reprehensible.”

Weiner has made it clear he plans to stay in the race and in response to Nadler and Pelosi’s remarks, Weiner told Breitbart News and other reporters in Staten Island last weekend, “Nancy Pelosi, she’s not gonna have a chance to vote for me,” Mr. Weiner said. “I hope to win Jerry Nadler’s vote.”
