Cruz: I'm Going 'Right Back in the Trenches' After 'a Little Bit of Shut-eye'
Appearing on Rush Limbaugh's talk radio show on Wednesday after speaking on the Senate floor for 21 hours without food or drink in opposition to Obamacare, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he was going to try and get "a little bit of shut-eye" before continuing the fight.
When Limbaugh asked what was next for Cruz, he said, "keep fighting the fight."
"I'll take a little bit of sleep and be right back in the trenches," Cruz said.
Cruz said he hoped the cloture vote in the Senate would happen on Friday rather than Saturday, when Americans are watching college football, so the maximum number of Americans can pay attention to the vote and which senators are voting for cloture, which he said was a vote to fund Obamacare.
