After Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Wednesday wondered why Congress would want to help one child with cancer during the government shutdown by agreeing to fund the National Institutes of Health (NIH), former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin ripped Reid on Twitter for his past support for much more trivial legislative pork.
Hmmm, funding cowboy poetry or treatments for kids with cancer? Tough choice if you’re Harry Reid. http://t.co/6kRK2Ou0rR

Earlier at a press conference, Reid, when asked why he would not help one kid with cancer by agreeing to fund the NIH, said, “Why would we want to do that?”
In 2011, Reid infamously complained on the Senate floor that the Republican budget would kill the Cowboy Poetry Festival.
