Report: Lawyer in Fatal New Jersey Carjacking Gave Up Life for Wife

The New Jersey lawyer who was fatally shot in a car jacking inside the parking lot of an upscale mall refused to give up his keys because he knew his wife was in the car, sources told The New York Daily News reported.

“He knew his wife was in there and he refused,” the source told the paper.

Dustin Friedland, 30, a lawyer from Hoboken, was shot in the parking garage of The Mall at Short Hills after 9 p.m. Sunday, authorities in Essex County, N.J., said.
