'God, Guns & Guts,' A Pictorial of the American Gunowner

God, Guns & Guts” is a pictorial of the American gun owner by journalist and author Ben Philippi.

To do this project Philippi spent four years traveling throughout the country “in search of the millions of legal gun owners who, everyday, proudly defend their constitutional right to bear arms.”

The book is full of photographs of gun owners from every walk of life and every region of the country. Mail Online reports that Philippi asked gun owners “to pose with their favorite firearms and explain why they hold them so dear.”

The photos “range from families and their teenage children to more traditional male gun enthusiasts” to women holding their favorite AK-47.

Philippi is captivated by how “limitless freedom can be when every man and every woman is afforded their right to arm and protect themselves.” In addition to capturing the diversity and passion of the American gun owner, Philippi hopes the book allows him to show, “in colorful and celebratory terms, a culture often portrayed as controversial and negative by the mainstream media.”
