Gun Control Groups Increasingly Target Corporations

With gun control continuing as a non-option in Congress, Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense in America (MDA), Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), and other gun control groups are increasingly targeting corporations.

Their goal is to get the corporations to self-regulate guns, as MDA tried but failed to get Starbucks, Staples, and Facebook to do.

According to The Hill, gun control groups have not given up on “Congressional action” for 2014, but “they are planning additional, as-yet-unspecified corporate action” this year.

In December 2013 MDA mentioned McDonald’s as one of their next targets.

Gun Owners of America’s Erich Pratt said such actions were nothing new: “This is not the first time we’ve seen this kind of thing. Whenever the anti-gun groups get stymied in Congress they resort to boycotts and other private measures.”
