Superintendent Stands By Book Which Teaches 2nd Amendment Requires Gun Registration

Springfield Public School District superintendent Bob Hill says he will not remove a workbook from curriculum that claims the Second Amendment requires the registration of privately owned guns.

According to BizPac Review, Hill said he sees “nothing wrong with the workbook” and is not going to succumb to “people for whom the Second Amendment is a heartburn issue.”

On March 24th, Hill was interviewed by Springfield, Illinois’ 970 AM WMAY and said “his job is not to micromanage the district’s educators and… that doing so would be an insult to teachers.”

The workbook in question claims:

Amendment 2 (1791): Right to bear arms — This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison. The founding fathers included the amendment to prevent the United States from acting like the British who had tried to take weapons away from the colonists.
