Ted Cruz Endorses Ben Sasse, Will Attend Nebraska Rally with Palin, Lee
On Wednesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) endorsed Nebraska Senate candidate Ben Sasse and announced he will attend a rally next week for him along with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Mike Lee on Friday.
“I have gotten to know Ben Sasse, and while Nebraskans have good choices, Ben is the strongest conservative voice running for United States Senate,” Cruz said in a statement. “Ben will not be just another vote in the Senate – he will be a leader in the fight to stop the Obama agenda and repeal ObamaCare from day one. We need strong reinforcements like him in the United States Senate.”
Sasse, who has surged in the race to a virtual tie after he staunchly came out against Obamacare, said that there is "no more zealous defender of the Constitution than Ted Cruz," and it was "an absolute honor to have the support of such a strong conservative leader in the fight against ObamaCare."
Former Nebraska Governor Kay Orr, the first female Republican governor, will also attend the rally at Scout's Rest in North Platte, where she brought President Ronald Reagan in 1987 to campaign on her behalf. Sasse said that it "is fitting that we bring these proud Reagan conservatives together at Scout’s Rest to stand where President Reagan stood and fight for the same things he believed."
