19 Wounded, 2 Dead in Chicago Weekend Violence
With the passing of another weekend, the toll of human misery mounts in Barack Obama's and Rahm Emanuel's Chicago with violence claiming two more dead and 19 wounded.
The two killed were both mowed down Saturday on the city's West Side over the May 17 weekend, both in drive by shootings.
The first, a 32-year-old man, was sitting in his own car when gunfire erupted from a passing vehicle. The victim tried to drive away from his assailants but was hit by gunfire nonetheless. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The second victim, a 20-year-old man, was standing out on the street when gunfire was directed his way from a nearby minivan. He died at the same hospital.
The tally of victims began Friday night with at least five wounded. However, the number climbed, adding 14 more victims on Saturday and Sunday.
