Bob Dole: Hillary Clinton's Age Will Be Issue in Potential Campaign

World War II veteran and former Republican 1996 presidential candidate Bob Dole said that Hillary Clinton’s age will matter if she runs for president in 2016.

Dole, who turns 91 next month, was 73 when he ran for president with Jack Kemp. Democrats made his age an issue then, just as they made Sen. John McCain’s age an issue in 2008. Regardless of whether it is fair, Dole said that Hillary Clinton’s age will also be fair game in a potential presidential campaign.

“We had signs, ‘Dole in ’96,’ and the Democrats in some areas changed it to ‘Dole is ’96,'” he told Politico. “Hillary will be, what, 69? Age can be a factor. I think it was in my race, and it’ll be in hers.”
