CBS Poll: Nearly 60% Disapprove of Obama's Handling of Immigration
Nearly six in 10 Americans, including 59% of independents, disapprove of President Barack Obama's handling of immigration.
A CBS poll found that 57% of Americans; including 85% of Republicans, 33% of Democrats, and 59% of independents; disapprove while 31%; including 7% of Republicans, 56% of Democrats, and 28% of independents; approve of Obama's handling of illegal immigration.
As Breitbart News reported, a recent Reuters poll found "that 70% of Americans, including 86% of Republicans, believe illegal immigrants 'threaten traditional U.S. beliefs and customs,' while 63% believe that 'immigrants place a burden on the economy.'"
Illegal immigration was the second most important issue facing Americans in the CBS poll. Among Republicans, it was the most important issue. A recent Gallup poll found that illegal immigration was the top problem facing Americans.
The CBS poll, which found that 50% of Americans disapprove of Obama's job performance, was conducted from July 29-August 4. Its margin of error was +/- four percentage points.
