Obama Headlines $100K-Per-Person 'Grassroots Victory' Fundraiser for Senate Dems

On Monday evening, President Barack Obama headlined a “Grassroots Victory Project” event for Senate Democrats that cost a whopping $100,000 per person.

According to pool reports, “the $100,000-per-person evening event” for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) was closed to the press, and the “DSCC declined to answer how many Democratic supporters contributed/attended.” Obama, Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO), the DSCC chair, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) headlined the event, which took place at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Obama reportedly arrived at the hotel at 5:19 PM, according to pool reports, and returned to the White House at 6:13 PM, where former Press Secretary Jay Carney’s son’s boy band, Twenty20, was the entertainment at a picnic for “agency staff from across the administration.”
