The New York Post reports that former President Bill Clinton was caught on tape “bashing” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Tom Harkin Steak Fry in Iowa on Sunday.
Hillary Clinton was in Iowa also, perhaps to unofficially begin her 2016 campaign for the presidency.
According to the Post, Bill Clinton was speaking with an activist at the event, who said of Netanyahu, “If we don’t force him to have peace, we won’t have peace,” adding, “Netanyahu is not the guy.” Bill Clinton responded, “I agree with that.”
Clinton famously disliked Netanyahu when Netanyahu was prime minister the first time, and his friend James Carville worked to get Ehud Barak elected over Netanyahu in 1999.
There was no word as to whether Hillary Clinton agreed.
