Pelosi Pushes to ‘Leverage’ Lack of GOP Votes for Cromnibus

In a “Dear Colleague” letter to Democrats dispatched as a news release, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is highlighting that the delayed vote on the “cromibus” gives Democrats leverage.

“It is clear from this recess on the floor that the Republicans don’t have enough votes to pass the CRomnibus,” Pelosi wrote. “This increases our leverage to get two offensive provisions of the bill removed: the bank bailout and big money for campaigns provision.”

Earlier in the afternoon Pelosi railed against riders in the massive $1.1 trillion appropriations bill, saying they were being “blackmailed” into supporting a must-pass government funding bill that loosened Wall Street and campaign finance regulations.

“However you decide to vote in the end, I thank those who continue to give us leverage to improve the bill,” she continued in her letter.

She concluded with “Stay tuned. NANCY”
