Rapper Jay-Z wants to pay more taxes. He's practically pleading for the president to make it so.
Jay-Z, whose worth is estimated at a half billion dollars, told CNN Money recently that he's perfectly fine with sharing more of his income. He just wants to be sure it's going toward noble efforts. Let's assume he doesn't mean propping up failing solar panel companies.
“I wouldn’t mind paying more taxes if it went to the things that really mattered. If it went to education, people [in] poverty and if it went to the right things,” the rapper and producer ... said on CNNMoney. “It should be clearly defined … where all the money’s being allocated. Because you can understand paying so much for taxes and then things not improving, you’re like, where’s everything going to?”
There is one way Jay-Z, who loves Occupy Wall Street so much he created an OWS line of shirts
without letting the movement in on the profits, can see his money go directly to worthwhile causes. Start researching the best nonprofits in a given field and, when you've found one with little overhead costs and tangible results, write one very, very large check.
