Veteran funnyman Larry Miller is recovering in an L.A. hospital after a freak head injury.
The comic, known both for his stand-up career as well as work in films like "Pretty Woman" and the upcoming "God Bless America," had taped an appearance on "The Adam Carolla Show" earlier in the day. He dropped by a local bar, stepped out to make a call, and then slipped while re-entering the bar according to TMZ.
People at the scene rushed to his aid and called 911. Miller was transported to a nearby hospital ... where he was treated in the E.R. before being transferred to the intensive care unit.
We're told ... doctors have told Miller's family the actor is expected to make a full recovery, but they want to keep him in the ICU for a couple of days for observation.
Miller's comedy podcast, "This Week with Larry Miller," is part of Carolla's Ace Broadcasting Network.
