NY Mag Critic Calls 'Zero Dark Thirty' 'Borderline Fascistic'

Veteran New York Magazine film critic David Edelstein calls “Zero Dark Thirty” “cool, brisk, grown-up, packed with impressively real-sounding intel jargon.”

Edelstein wasn’t done quite yet.

The critic also calls the film, which recalls the manhunt for Osama bin Laden as well as the enhanced interrogation tactics used to glean critical clues to his whereabouts, “borderline fascistic” and “barely distinct from a boneheaded right-wing revenge picture.”

Well, which is it?

As Breitbart News reported yesterday, “Zero Dark Thirty” shows how enhanced interrogation tactics (AKA “torture” to the hyperventilating Left) lead to the successful killing of bin Laden. The film received some early critical raves as well as the top prize from three major film critics groups.

Will Edelstein’s piece fuel the inevitable backlash against what the film depicts?
