Rolling Stone Editor Sends Condescending Tweet to Mag's Critics, Apologizes

Christian Hoard, a senior editor with Rolling Stone magazine, responded to critics of its latest choice of cover model in what he would later dub an “inappropriate and disrespectful” manner.

The pop culture mainstay features a portrait of alleged Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on its latest edition, a photograph that looks like so many rock star poses from the publication’s rich past.

The public’s response was quick and venomous, but Hoard used his Twitter account to strike back at critics in a snarky fashion.

I guess we should have drawn a d*** on Dzhokhar’s face or something?

Hoard apologized for his comments the following day and deleted the tweet in question.

Yesterday I made a sarcastic remark here in response to the RS cover controversy. I stand by our cover, but not my tweet – it was inappropriate and disrespectful. I’m sorry,” the tweet said.
