Young 'Kick-Ass 2' Star Defends Film's Violence

Jim Carrey already made his public statement about the level of violence in his new film Kick-Ass 2. The on-screen mayhem is so intense, he says, he will not activate promote the film in the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, CT.

Co-star Chloe Grace Moretz respects Carrey’s decision. She also thinks he’s wrong.

The talented teen, who plays the trash-talking Hit Girl in the comic book franchise, thinks movie violence has no direct connection to actual violence.

In short–it’s just a movie, folks.

If you are that easily swayed, you might see The Silence of the Lambs and think you are a serial killer. It’s a movie and it’s fake, and I’ve known that since I was a kid… I don’t want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do.
