'Clueless' Star Slams Oprah Winfrey for Comparing Trayvon Martin's Death to Emmitt Till
Clueless star Stacey Dash doesn't follow the typical Hollywood template when it comes to politics.
Dash supported Mitt Romney in his failed race for the White House last year.
Now, Dash is critiquing Oprah Winfrey for the talk show host's comments regarding the death of Trayvon Martin and Emmitt Till, the black youth viciously murdered in 1955 for the "crime" of flirting with a person outside his race. Winfrey drew a direct comparison between the two events despite the widely different scenarios involved in each tragedy.
Referencing a Fox News article that criticized the talk show host for comparing Martin to Emmett Till, Dash tweeted a Malcolm X quote about the oppressed versus the oppressor.
“‘If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.’ ~ Malcolm X. Shame on you, Oprah,” she wrote.
