Ted Nugent's Wife Arrested for Gun in Carry-on Luggage, Claims 'Honest Mistake'

The wife of Ted Nugent, one of the Second Amendment’s most vocal advocates, was arrested for bringing a gun to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Shemane Ann Nugent, 51, had the weapon in her carry-on luggage when she was stopped by airport security. Guns are permitted in checked baggage, but not in carry-on items or on planes.

Airport spokesman David Magana confirmed that the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety took Shemane Ann Nugent, 51, into custody, and “the rest of it is working its way through our system of legal approval.”

Nugent’s attorney, David Finn, said that taking the gun to the airport was an “honest mistake.” Finn said Nugent has a concealed handgun license.
