Sarah Silverman's 'Black NRA' Ad Obsesses Over Trayvon Martin Case

George Zimmerman was acquitted in the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin on July 13, and only now is Sarah Silverman broaching the subject with humor.

Better put the word humor in square quotes.

Two months in, the best Silverman can offer is a “Black NRA” faux ad posted at Funny or Die. The site is known for its overwhelmingly liberal slant–its current political page is chockablock with Mitt Romney material and barely anything on President Barack Obama.

The video announces a new branch of the National Rifle Association, one dedicated to arming young black men. If Martin was armed, he could have returned fire on Zimmerman, or so the meandering video says.

The clip, which also features David Alan Grier, is a compendium of dumbed down talking points–Martin was simply eating Skittles and wearing a hoodie–and foolish arguments in search of a laugh and a point.
