Actor Ethan Hawke loves his current wife and has no plans to step out on her.
The star of The Purge and Getaway still doesn’t think married people should expect monogamy, nor should they become unhinged should their partner stray.
Humans aren’t made to be monogamous, he argues.
People have such a childish view of monogamy and fidelity,” the actor said. “‘He’s cheated so he’s bad, she’s cheated so she’s bad’, as opposed to a recognition that our species is not monogamous.
Hawke was once married to actress Uma Thurman but the marriage dissolved amidst cheating allegations. Hawke says he wasn’t unfaithful to the Pulp Fiction star. His current wife, Ryan Shawhughes, once served as a nanny to his children with Thurman.
