NEW YORK, Dec. 21 (UPI) — U.S. actress Kim Basinger signed a contract with IMG Models, where her daughter, Ireland Basinger Baldwin, signed earlier this year.
Basinger, 60, is joining her daughter, 18, at the modeling agency to teach by example, People magazine reported Friday.
Basinger began her modeling career at 16 as the Breck Shampoo girl before moving into acting.
Baldwin had her first big photo shoot published in the New York Post, followed by a spread in Elle, where she credited her mother for encouraging her to try modeling.
“She thought it would be good for my confidence because I never thought of myself as a pretty girl,” Baldwin said in the interview.
“She looks like she’s my age. Her body, I swear, it’s scary,” Baldwin said of her mother.
