Action Star Liam Neeson Recalls Wife's Sudden Death on '60 Minutes'

Audiences got to know actor Liam Neeson for his acclaimed performances in films like Rob Roy and Schindler’s List.

Now, he’s the latest post-60 action star thanks to runaway hits like Taken. The Irish actor, 61, showed another side to him during an emotional interview on Sunday’s 60 Minutes. Neeson’s wife, actress Natasha Richardson, died following a skiing accident in 2009. He hasn’t publicly discussed the matter until last night, though.

Grief is like a three-legged table,” he said, “The Earth isn’t stable anymore….”

He told [interviewer Anderson] Cooper he visits her grave often and plants her favorite flowers, daffodils and roses.  Neeson also said he has been unable to part with her clothing.

Neeson’s latest action film, Non-Stop, opens Feb. 28. The film casts him as an air marshal trying to stop a man from killing his fellow passengers one by one.
