Celebrities are taking to Twitter to weigh in on proposed legislation in Arizona that they fear will lead to discrimination against gay people.

The Advocate tallied a list of stars who want the bill to be vetoed by Gov. Jan Brewer, claiming it will make it legal for shops to refuse service to people based on their sexual preferences.

Comedian Denis Leary turned his caustic wit on the subject with a tech-savvy tweet.

George Takei of Star Trek fame is currently using both Twitter and left of center media outlets to decry what he calls the “new segregation.”

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane dedicated a series of Tweets to the subject in recent days, but this tweet summed up his attitude toward the proposed bill.

Sitcom star Kirstie Alley also used the word “Hate” to deplore the bill in question.

A group of legal experts from a variety of backgrounds, though, say the bill’s critics have “egregiously” misstated its consequences.
