President Obama has taken time out of his busy schedule to share with the nation a new PSA to combat sexual assault on college campuses.
Obama announced the campaign during a press conference on Friday, where he cited the NFL football stars who have recently made headlines for domestic violence and child abuse.
“From sports leagues to pop culture to politics, our society does not sufficiently value women. We still don’t condemn sexual assault quite like we should,” he said during the conference.
Vice President Joe Biden, Kerry Washington, and Jon Hamm also lent their voice.
“We’ve been working on campus sexual assault for several years, but the issue of violence against women is now in the news every day,” Obama stated. “We’re getting a better picture of what domestic violence is all about. People are talking about.”
The President then shared the PSA website in a tweet Friday.

As expected, the President received backlash on social media, as many question his absence regarding broader issues involving national security.
