62-Year-Old Mickey Rourke Returns to Boxing, Strips Down to Underwear for Weigh-In

Actor and retired boxer Mickey Rourke, 62-years-old, is reportedly making his way back into the ring after a 20-year hiatus.

Rourke, who will spar with 29-year-old professional boxer Elliott Seymour for five rounds in Moscow on Friday, stripped down to his baby blue boxer briefs, showing off his ripped physique, for a weigh-in the day prior.

Long before Rourke became a household name for his appearance in blockbuster films like Sin City and The Wrestler, for which he won a Golden Globe, he was an amateur boxer.

In the 1990s, in the midst of a successful acting career, Rourke decided to return to the realm of boxing, this time as a professional, but he officially hung up his gloves in 1994.

For Friday’s comeback bout, Rourke was reportedly coached by celebrity boxer Freddie Roach, who has also trained Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya.

Rourke has been training diligently to prepare for his big fight. On Wednesday, the award-winning actor was photographed working out with boxing coach Marvin Somodio, who is an assistant to Roach.

Kudos to Rourke, who is choosing to fill his golden years with an unconventional hobby.

Age is just a number, folks.
