Golden Globes: Lena Dunham Nominated for Best Actress

Comedienne Lena Dunham, who has been the topic of recent controversy, has been nominated for a Golden Globe award for best actress for her performance in Girls.

The nominee is currently embroiled in a public dispute after passages from her new memoir, Not That Kind of Girl, were shown to be inconsistent.

In the book, Dunham describes being raped by a campus Republican.

However, those claims are now being questioned, after Breitbart’s John Nolte launched an investigation into the background of the story.

Her show, Girls, about a group of women in their early 20s who live in New York City, was created by Dunham, who also stars in the series.

The premise of the show, and main character attributes, are reportedly inspired by Dunham’s real-life experiences.

The 29-year-old actress is up against Edie Falco, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Gina Rodriquez, and Taylor Schilling for the award.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are returning for the third year as hosts, which is rumored to be their last.

NBC will air the Golden Globe Awards live from the Beverly Hills Hotel on Jan. 11.
