News the Old Media Won't Tell You: More Trash at One Sparsely Attended Left Wing Rally Than at All the Tea Parties Around the Country in a Year and a Half

The pictures and videos of all the trash left behind at Saturday's left wing "One Nation" rally on the Mall in Washington, D.C. bring the same sort of surprise as headlines proclaiming -- "Dog Bites Man!" or "Sun Rises in the East!" Still, it's worth pausing for a moment to contemplate what the different post-rally environmental records of the leftists who attended the rally yesterday versus the Tea Partiers who've held thousands of rallies around the country over the last year and a half say about the political philosophies of these two groups.

As the images attached attest, the labor union activists and leftists who attended yesterday's rally lacked a certain attention to individual responsibility when it came to picking up their trash. In contrast, the joke about just about every Tea Party rally held in this country over the past year and a half is that the attendees leave the grounds cleaner after the rally than they were before.

While this is an interesting sociological observation, it's important for us to note the following. Unless Tea Party activists pay attention over the next 30 days, and make sure we get out the vote on November 2, our better trash track record to date won't make much difference. As Glenn Reynolds, who blogs as Instapundit, often reminds us... "Don't get cocky, kid!"

It's fun to note that the left is as messy and irresponsible at a rally as they are with taxpayers' money, but it's up to us to clean up the mess they've made this country by focusing like a laser beam on getting out the vote between now and November 2.

One project worth taking a look at if you're looking for a way to help is Election Day Tea Party, which you can be find online at http://www.electiondayteaparty.com. That project helps target volunteer and financial help on 50 key House races in districts currently represented by Democrats who supported the Pelosi agenda. It's a list compiled by tea party activists, designed to help tea party activists find campaigns that are "on the bubble" where their time and money can make the most difference.

The bottom line is this--while it's amusing to look at the pictures of all the trash left behind by the labor unions and left wing socialists, they aren't going to give up their efforts to win on November 2 just because we've proven we are much neater than they are at rallies. Depending on which count you pay attention to, they did manage to persuade somewhere in the vicinity of 30,000 or so to come out on a Saturday. If you look closely, you'll note that many of the attendees arrived on buses paid for by SEIU and other labor unions. You can bet that these groups will be throwing money around "like drunken sailors" over the next 30 days to get the crowd that littered the Mall Saturday to show up at the polls on November 2. We would be unwise to take our eye off the ball now.

As my old track coach often told me, run through the tape, not to the tape. It's time we all made sure that we run through the tape on November 2.
