Where, Oh Where, Has O's Doggy Gone?

Where, Oh Where, Has O's Doggy Gone?

There have been many pictures of Bo, President Obama’s dog, since Obama took office. But the last one that was released by the White House dates back to January, leading observers to wonder what may have happened to the First Family’s mascot. The media, however, has been silent on the issue.

This leads one to wonder if Obama, who has been reported to consume high-class morsels when out on vacation, may have decided to go survivalist. Or perhaps a longing for the sights, smells and tastes of his childhood may be reemerging with a vengeance.

Of course, there may be a more prosaic, practical election-year reason for the mysterious disappearance of Bo: seeing Bo reminds the public that although Bo has flourished in his stay with Obama, others of his species have not flourished. And in a campaign which is predicated on image (polls show that the only advantage Obama temporarily holds over the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, is his likeability), no one in the Obama camp wants their leader to be seen as one of the protagonists in a dog-eat-dog world.
