In the month of July, the American economy created 162,000 jobs. Most of them were part time. Moreover, that is probably not enough jobs to keep up with the average increase in population.
A recovering economy regularly creates closer to 300,000 private sector jobs per month and sees weekly unemployment claims dip under 300,000.
But here is a tweet from the Associated Press in which they employ what I call The Obama Curve — a total and complete reimagining of acceptable levels of economic and job growth.
Only under Obama has the modern media ever found an increase in unemployment claims’ good economic news, especially when the overall number is well over 300,000.
