Politico Tracks Down 'Dr. Seuss Expert' to Trash Cruz
In the wake of Senator Ted Cruz's 21-hour filibuster, in order to ensure his ideas are not heard, the media have focused on his reading the Dr. Seuss book Green Eggs and Ham. But that was just the one-punch. The two-punch was just delivered by Politico: hunting down a "Dr. Seuss expert" to make Cruz's quoting of Dr. Seuss a gaffe of sorts:
A Dr. Seuss expert said the author would be “offended at the misuse” of “Green Eggs and Ham” by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) during his 21-hour long Senate speech.
Yes, Politico is being petty. No, obviously, this is not news.
What it is, though, is a brilliant left-wing political tactic Politico is employing.
What the media is currently doing to Ted Cruz is what they do to Sarah Palin and did to Mitt Romney: nothing they do can ever be right. Everything they do must in some way be a bad move, out-of-touch, or a gaffe.
The idea is to toxify this person in the eyes of the public by stripping them of their intelligence and competence.
"Ted Cruz can't even quote Dr. Seuss right!"
