Report: MSNBC Not Eager to Bring Back Alec Baldwin

Page Six reports that Alec Baldwin’s two-week suspension for calling a photographer a “c**ksucking f*g,” is likely to become permanent. Moreover, MSNBC is not going to miss him. The actor is apparently something of a monster to work with.

One insider said, “He would only show up at work an hour a week to prep for the show, and when he did turn up, he was in an angry mood, red-faced, and shouting at all the staff. And he said the air at 30 Rock was too dry, it was bad for his voice, he needed a humidifier.”

Beyond his being a nightmare, Baldwin didn’t keep his promises to MSNBC president Phil Griffin. The actor had promised to bring in top political and entertainment names for his hour-long Friday night show. New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio lived up to that promise. Actress Debra Winger, whose heyday was 20 years ago, did not.

According to Page Six, MSNBC hired Baldwin so that a circling CNN could not.
