Former Slate Writer's New Website Sponsored by Corporation He Once Called 'Evil'

Only a few months ago, Matt Yglesias slammed General Electric as "evil." Now, three months later as he prepares to launch a new website with former Washington Post writer Ezra Klein, he is thrilled to announce that GE is funding him.

On December 17, Yglesias posted a piece titled "Dividends Are Evil" wherein he claimed that GE was too selfishly worried about paying its shareholders but otherwise doing "nothing for the economy."

Yglesias' new partner, Ezra Klein, has also attacked GE in past posts.

But that was then. Now Yglesias and Klein both need some ready cash to launch their new website. Suddenly, GE's money is something to celebrate.

So, Yglesias and Klein have their new news website that they think will revolutionize how we get our information. To celebrate the launch of Vox.com, the pair took to Twitter to spread the word of their impending launch, a launch now conveniently sponsored by GE, the very company they have both attacked as evil, greedy, and harmful to the US.

It seems to be an interesting way to start a news site that the pair claims will "explain the news" to the rest of us who just can't figure it all out.
